SO i was like the many of us who clicked on the link to this blog every now and then to reminisce about the good ole days where we ACTUALLY thought life was tough. Yep.. Life just gets tougher. So anyway, then I saw this chain ( not really one, cause there was only 2 ) of posts about jcs... So without further ado..


presenting....

MY TAKE ON M..........J.C!!!! YAY!!! whistles* juggles pots and pans* (and fails to do so as there is homework to be done..)


1) So. Contrary to popular belief that M...... .J is a mugger junior college, M......... J ain just a mugger college!! Its a DAMN MUGGER mug till u die College... As in seriously, maybe its true for other jcs as well, but i wouldnt know, would i? Walk into the school on a nice Monday morning, no make it every morning, and guess what you see? Study benches! Everywhere, at the concourse, at the atrium, at the quadrangle, etc. And the best thing is, people are REALLY using them. Its really unlike chungcheng where it's one of those rare gems who actually use the concourse study benches for STUDYing. Really, these study benches are booked from before sch to after school by its students. Its amazing how with all the studying being done, so many get retained and kicked out of school.

2) Right so moving on to my second point.... The next big woo-haa about M... .J.C: its retainees. The truth is, its not the number of retainees that are scary, you call 25, shocking? Thats just a sliver of the number of students that did not pass their promos.. So, this is actually what happens. Gazillions fail their promos, the best few get retained, the rest? Bye =) and thats not to mentioned the subsequent number of people who drop out of school in their second year after "hints" and "suggestions" that an alternate educational pathway might by more feasible.

3) So what's left after all the slashing and doing away of students? The batch of polished gems - machines capable of slogging it out day and night just for a single test. And as the year end approached, a new batch of rocks are being sent up for inspection.. And Don't We All Want To Make It...

4) Hmmm.. tests.. right. Never underestimate THE TEST in M.J to pass a test, is deemed commendable, a C grade is applaudable, a B grade is rare. and an A grade. wow. Yup.. and to fail? ain nothing much. Here's a live stat. Moi over here achieved a 5/25 for my math lecture test. A U. As with a few hundred people. I checked my percentile? 50% Oh wow, 50% scored slower than me! o.O so im actually above average with a U grade.. (pats on my back)

5) The canteen food is 'orrible!!! We have sakae sushi. But it closed down. DOn't get me wrong, i hate sakae. saying that, i ain biased or what, cause most of the school population don't go to the sakae outlet at our canteen, and so it closed down. Awww.... The main point is. Its VERY VERY EXPENSIVE!!! ARGH!!!! that goes to the other stores! The cheapest "filling" meal i can get is chicken rice at the cost of $2. And its barely filling, its not just me ok, even my class' uber-skinny girls agree... And the variety.. Disgustin.. For a picky eater like me. Food as sadly been warped into a chore and no longer a joy. Gone were the days where I salivate and gush in joy at the sight of delicious bar chor mee. Or the delectable char kuay teow. In my canteen. Its either chicken rice, malay rice, chinese rice, western(long queue long wait and expensive..) and noodles(variety sucks there as well). So I usually end up eating chicken rice 4 times a week. and noodles like 7 times a wk. Its really sad.. Me and my friends practically weep in joy when the noodles auntie introduced a new ingredient of curry vegetables. Imagine our plight..

6) PE is seriously horrible. They love to make us run. Like mad. Run Run Run. "8laps around the track boys, and before you start, do a lap first as a warm up" .... 9 laps u mean.... and the conditioning exercises after then runs are a killer.. And they make poor guys like me do pull ups every single day to train our muscles to hit the magical 5 to pass Napfa next year before NS... Every single day!! =(

7) And to end off, their e-learning schedules might actually works cause they don't use the same old format most schools use: elearning homework given. everyone does it at the last minute... Oh noo... they make a real time table.. so lets say H2 math.. A lecture of 50min is uploaded onto the webbie and only will be allowing access from 8am to 9am. So poor souls like me have to drag our butts out of bed at 8am to "attend" the lecture online. And guess when the elearning day ends? 7pm at night.. horrible isnt it?

Alright, too lazy to continue writing bout school facilities and all that, so till then.. when life gets tough in ya JCs. think. Somewhere out there, there is someone like me who is slogging away in this kinda place.. So appreciate where you are studying at yar.. hahaha
